The safety seal that all masters are bound with, is simply a quality
control measure. It is our way of assuring that the master has not
been tampered with by unauthorized individuals. You see, when the
master reaches the replication/duplication plant, they are the ones
who will break open the seal and proceed with the replication/duplication
process. Now, if they reject the master for whatever reason/s, then
we know that the blame falls on us, and we will correct the problem
at no cost to you. The final master/s are NOT for playback, as the
CD laser can cause damage to the master, and could possibly read
"incorrectly" at the replication/duplication plant, thus causing
rejection. We want everything to go smoothly, so please, if you
are going to have a replication/duplication facility mass produce
your CDs, then let them be the ones to break the seal.
If, however, you choose to break the seal and open the master/s,
then you are responsible for the well being of the master/s.
Here are a few tips to keep things safe if you plan on duplicating
and mass producing your own CDs:
1) Don't play it.
2) Don't play it.
3) Yep, you guessed it… Don't, play it.
4) Don't let anything touch, scratch, or get on the master/s.
Even the slightest blemish, fingerprint, or dust, can cause reading
errors.
5) Make sure your source drive is in clean and good mechanical working order to avoid problems.
6) If possible, copy the master into an internal drive and make
a disk "image" (be it on your dupe machine or computer) so you
can avoid hitting the master with the laser any more than necessary.
Then proceed to duplicate. Incidentally, that is why replication/duplication
facilities create actual stamping/duping disks…to avoid
taxing the original.
Final note:
We will provide you with an actual reference copy strictly for casual listening. It goes without saying, that the audio quality will be identical to the "official" masters.
